| Abstract |
|
We abserved a case of anencephaly survived nearly for 28 hrs, and fortunately we were able to obtain his eyes for hispopathological study. Glossly both eyes were markedly micro-ophthalmic, but the right eye was more pronounced. This is quite contrary to the description of previous authors. The microscopic specimen revealed a diffuse hypoplasia of the nerve fibers and ganglion cells. The retinal vessels were located sight below the internal limiting membrane. |
