Abstract
The authors statistically analysed a normal variation of the interpupillary distance and interinner canthal distance on 1370 normal persons of Koreans. 1) In interpupillary distance, average value was 41.05 +/- 4.41mm in newborn 62.70 +/- 4.74mm (peak value) in twenties, and 61.7 +/- 5.34mm over fifties. 2) In inter-inner canthal distance, average value was 22.77 +/- 3.15mm in newborn, 37.46 +/- 4.53mm (peak value) between the 13 and 19 years of age, and 36.19 +/- 4.39mm over fifties. 3) The normal range of those should be separately elucidated according to sex and age groups.
