Abstract
A hundred and six patients were diagnosed as having peripheral uveitis who visited the uveitis clinic of Department of Ophthalmology, Seoul National University Hospital from January of 1978 to December of 1987. This represents 9.9% of the whole uveitis patients evaluated during that period of time. The results are derived from an analysis of the 106 cases of peripheral uveitis available for the review of their charts. 1. Of the 106 patients herein reviewed, 88 were male(83%) and 18 were female(17%). 2. Six patients(5.7%) showed peripheral uveitis in both eyes. 3. Peripheral uveitis is more prevalent in third(25.5%) and fourth(37.8%) decades of life. 4. In routine laboratory work-up, no specific abnormalities were found. 5. The two most important complications of peripheral uveitis were cataract(9.4%) and retinal detachment(11.3%).
