Abstract |
The depth of the anterior chamber decreases with aging, secondary to lens growth. However, short-term changes in the depth of the anterior chamber have been reported in recent articles. The authors measured the depth of the anterior chamber in normal population and investigated the diurnal variation in the depth of the anterior chamber and correlation between the depth of the anterior chamber and intraocular pressure. The results were as the followings; 1. The depth of the anterior chamber decreases with age. 2. The depth of the anterior chamber in the morning is 3.48 +/- 0.31 mm, while the depth of the anterior chamber in the evening is 3.37 +/- 0.30mm. It is statistically significant in diurnal variation of the depth of the anterior chamber. 3. The depth of the anterior chamber does not correlate with the intraocular pressure. |
